New: Via Ferrata on the Kitzbüheler Horn

Attention, climbing enthusiasts: At St. Johann am Kitzbüheler Horn, two new via ferratas are waiting to inspire you.

Ambitious climbers will discover challenging routes with multiple C-ratings, while beginners can get comfortable on a practice via ferrata – with a safe entry, a short loop, and impressive views.

 

The Facts at a Glance:

  • Starting point: Harschbichl mountain station

  • Practice via ferrata: approx. 20 minutes’ walk towards Horn

  • Loop: over 100 m long, difficulty C, leads back to the starting point

  • Summit via ferrata: 350 m length, 150 m elevation gain, multiple C sections, with ridge passages

  • Reward: Stunning views of the Großglockner

 

 

The path to the summit follows the Ludwig-Scheiber-Steig and culminates in a panoramic view you won’t soon forget – spanning the Wilder Kaiser, Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge, and reaching deep into the heart of the Alps.
